Excellent - really low standby power, duplex and wired ethernet

I got this to replace a very very old worn out HL-5150D from 2004(!) that I was operating with a raspberry pi as a wireless print server and a smart plug to save power when not needed. I wish I had modernized earlier. This printer has a standby power of less than a Watt, prints excellent quality duplex and has wireless built in. This also has a wired ethernet port, but I don't need that at the moment. Just upgrade, you won't regret it.

GOOD BASIC PRINTER

This is an ideal black and white printer for day to day use. This is my first Brother printer and I am very pleased with it.

Excellent printer, as expected

Excellent basic mono laser printer. For a few years, the Verge review has said "just buy whichever basic Brother mono printer is available on offer". Seems pretty good advice. Set-up was easy. Connected with Wifi without issues. The print quality for text seems excellent (better than the HP machine it is replacing). The build quality seems very acceptable. This model looks better than the grey ones in a home setting. What's not to like? The printer came extremely well and securely packed by Brother. And the free delivery from the Cartridge People arrived within 24hrs of ordering -- couldn't have been better service.
