Epson Expression Home XP-335 Expert Review

Utilising individual inks to produce quality text documents and photo prints, the Epson Expression Home XP-335 is a high quality machine for use in the home.

A member of Epson’s small-in-one range, this inkjet is capable of wireless printing and scanning. Simply download the iPrint app and you can print and scan using a smartphone or tablet. With Epson Email Print you can even print from anywhere in the world by emailing photos directly to the printer itself.

If you’re looking to print out your favourite Facebook photos the Creative Print app is ideal and can even be used to create custom stationery and greeting cards. The inclusion of Wi-Fi Direct allows for printing without the need for a network connection.

PC-free printing is simple thanks to a 3.7cm LCD screen whilst the print speeds are 9ppm (mono) and 5.5ppm (colour).

In terms of the Epson Expression Home XP-335’s paper handling capabilities, 100 sheets of standard paper and 20 sheets of photo paper can be accommodated.

Photographs and documents will be produced to a high standard when using an Epson Expression Home XP-335 that has all the connectivity features a busy home needs.

With a small footprint, this inkjet machine can be easily accommodated in the home and the colour screen improves the usability of this printer. The display may not be a touchscreen but the ability to print without the use of a PC is a welcome feature for a model so small.

A 100-sheet paper capacity is impressive but the home office suitability of the XP-335 would benefit from being able to auto duplex. Likewise, there’s no fax functionality included with this printer.

The wireless printing options will more than meet the demands of a busy home where children may need to print homework from various rooms in the home. Being able to print from Facebook via the Creative Print app is also a worthwhile function.

There’s much to admire about a machine that has an individual ink system and so it can perhaps be forgiven for the lack of double-sided printing.
