Own Brand HP 117A Yellow Toner Cartridge - W2072A (Cartridge People)

As a former ex-HP employee I have only ever used HP products, so I was very surprised when an HP branded 117A Yellow cart started leaking toner and contaminating my imaging drum after a couple of months. Cartridge People swapped it out under warranty having seen the photos of the issue - no hassle at all. Annoyingly though the replacement brand new HP branded unit was even worse than the previous one (all sealed so it's like that from the factory) and I rejected it. Cartridge People offered to replace again or refund entirely but as this appears to be an HP supply chain issue, I asked if I could try their own brand cartridge instead. This was my only way to rule out the HP supply chain problem I was getting (going elsewhere for HP would just give me a repeat issue). The Own brand unit arrived this morning and after a clean of the image drum and an inspection of the new cart proving it wasn't leaking like the HP units, I installed and ran some test prints. I have to say that the yellow just as bright and clear as the HP brand. The only difference I could see was a lack of the 'pull tabs' for lift it in/out but there's plenty to hold onto for this. The Printer maintenance menu is happy with the product and there were no problems with the compatibility chip. The printer saw it, recognised it and ran a cartridge calibration straight off. I really couldn't ask for better. So that's the product bit, now for customer service. From the point of contact my issue was dealt with in a sympathetic and very professional manner. There was no quibbling, just requests for pictures to verify what I was describing and then agreement to replace. Even my request to switch to the own branded item means I will be refunded the difference between the HP cost and the CP cost. Now I've been in the IT industry for 43 years now, 19 of those at HP selling, installing and supporting all hardware types and I have to give big shout out to Sheree at Cartridge People for her dedication to customer satisfaction. Well done and THANK YOU Sheree.
