The Reliance Medical Critical Injury Pack is designed to provide immediate, life-saving first aid for individuals who have sustained a severe bleeding injury in the workplace. It can also be used for drop or throw distribution during a mass casualty incident, allowing bystanders or injured individuals in restricted areas to treat serious wounds before further medical assistance arrives. Employers should store an appropriate number of packs based on their workplace risk assessment and the maximum number of people on site who may be exposed to the risk. The packs are intended to be issued on a one-per-person basis, so the injured individual can use their own pack rather than relying on a first aider’s supplies. Where tourniquets or haemostatic dressings are provided, the HSE recommends that employers arrange appropriate staff training. The Critical Injury Pack conforms to BS8599-1:2019.
