HP Photosmart eStation Printer Description

Designed to give home users optimal mobile printing solutions, the HP Photosmart eStation has what HP has described as a “digital companion” giving users more flexibility in their mobile printing options.

The handy, detachable touchscreen allows users to download and print documents and photos from the web. With wireless all-in-one functionality offered as standard, HP ePrint will give users the chance to print from anywhere in the home, or even from outside the home!

Cost savings when it comes to paper are helped by the printer’s auto duplexing feature. This means you can halve your paper costs through using both sides of the paper automatically during printing. Other energy saving features include an innovative, reusable bag that helps to reduce waste packaging whilst the device will use less than one watt of energy while in Off mode.

In terms of performance, the eStation will give print speeds of up to 33ppm for black documents and up to 32ppm for colour documents. This is supported by a 125-sheet paper capacity.

Through the use of individual inks, the eStation can deliver affordable printing at a high standard, making it ideal for the everyday home printer user.

This multifunctional printer isn’t like your standard devices. What makes this device stand out from other desktop printers is that it has a removable tablet allowing you to print from anywhere in the home.

Wireless printing may now be common place but the actual inclusion of a Zeen tablet and ebook reader adds a further dimension to the HP Photosmart eStation’s capabilities. The “eStation Zeen” allows users to remove the device from the printer and print from anywhere whilst also reading the latest news or catching up with friends on social media.

It is the 17.8cm tablet-like touchscreen which grabs the headlines but that doesn’t mean that is the only above average feature of the Photosmart eStation. The print speeds are high and a 125-page capacity makes it a more than adequate machine for home printing.

In terms of print quality, graphic and text quality is also high whilst the Photosmart excels in the photo printing department, as you’d expect with a printer which suggests high quality photo printing in its name.

With auto duplexing offered and fax capabilities, it’s possible that this could be used in a home office though the paper capacity may put many off. Being able to print attachments from emails as well as Facebook photographs is another welcome plus.

Perhaps the only downside is that, although the Zeen is innovative, the idea of remotely controlling printers is not, and you can see apps catching up in terms of their development and turning smartphones into the same functioning devices as the Zeen. That said, even if you pay a little bit more than for a standard printer, you do get a machine which can be a good addition to the family home.
