It’s possible to save money on your printing by utilising XL ink cartridges available for the HP DeskJet 2542.

There is also an energy saving benefit from a machine that can print, copy and scan as well as be used wirelessly. The connectivity options may see this machine as a welcome addition to the home environment but for those with a small home office, the 60-sheet paper capacity may put you off opting for this as your printer of choice.

As well as the small paper capacity, a lack of memory card reader and integrated fax count against the 2542 as an office device.

That being said, the print results deliver the kind of quality that will be appreciated by families who need to carry out a variety of printing tasks. The added functionality of a scanner and copier should not be ignored either, especially when considering the low cost price of this machine.
