Own Brand OKI 44968301 Drum Unit (Cartridge People)

On installation it reset all colour toners to Zero. Had to work around to reset toner levels

We have had our OKI printer for 10+years and had problems with the drum recently. Cartridge People were able to send us a replacement drum and, after we purchases two new colour cartridges it is working as good as new. the service was excellent with the purchases delivered very promptly and at a fair price. We are delighted that we don';t have to replace the printer.

Very prompt delivery excellent price. Only downside was lack of fitting instructions but in practice the replacement was obvious

Fitted and working well so far

Although I read the reviews of own brand drum and ordered OEM, was called by CP to explain bad reviews of "own brand" drum due to incorrect printer model. Persuaded to change to own brand. Oh dear, wished i hadn't !. Firstly, It doesn't come pre-charged with toner so when it doesn't work you lose your toner when sending it back. The drum failed to initialise and continuously running in startup mode. Going back to genuine OKI parts.

It doesn’t work

Having had success with non branded ink cartridges for many years, I thought I'd try the non branded image drum, but it was awful. Oki provide temporary cartridges of each colour when changing drums with a small amount of ink in each one - the cartridge People's version didn't have this, so it did drain the ink a lot when making the switch. However the worst part was once changed it immediately started leaving black lines down the entire right side of the page - where the paper had been fed through the roller. The lines quickly got darker and darker draining the ink fast. When taking the drum out after printing to identify the issue, ink was being leaked onto the belt underneath - which if left would increase with any further prints. After a number of emails going back and forth with CP (who were helpful) to try and resolve, I was given a refund to enable me to buy the oki original - and as suspected the problem stopped immediately, proving the CP drum was the problem. Therefore, I won't buy or recommend this product again. The cost of draining of the ink and time spent trying to resolve far outweighed the £30 saving on buying the original. So buy the original and safe yourself the money and aggravation that would be lost on using something inferior.
