My Brother TN - 2420 Hi Cap Toner has run out.

Is the Brother DR - 2400 Original drum unit a direct swap out replacement? My toner cartridge has run out. I'm confused by the statement accompanying this item? I am waiting to make an order?
- The drum unit is different to the toner in the printer, the drum fuses the toner onto the paper. If you printers toner has expired, then you would need to order a new toner for the printer.

I have bought your version toner which says is compatible to my printer but, once installed printer won’t work and keeps saying replace toner still?
