The idea behind Cartridge People was to save our customers money by providing a reliable source of more affordable printer ink. Work on the website started in early 2001 and on 15th July 2001 the Cartridge People site officially launched.
At this time, our company was based in Winsford, in a small office that once served as a physics lab.
For the first couple of years, Cartridge People only sold compatible cartridges. It wasn’t until 2004 that original products would be listed on the website.
This growing customer base was welcomed by our team in Winsford, which soon grew to 10 as the website went from strength to strength.
Following a change of premises, Cartridge People began to work more with toner cartridges and started to serve businesses with deals on compatible and original toner cartridges.
It was in 2006 that we launched our previous logo. Standing the test of time, it was finally updated in 2023 to the logo that you’ll find across our site today!
Empties Please, a key Cartridge People partner that focused on the recycling of printer ink and toner cartridges, was born in 2010.
We’re constantly looking to educate our customers on how to save money and make printing easier. A prime example of this is our blog, which was first launched in 2014.

In this year, we also managed to raise nearly £7k for Breast Cancer Care through our Print Pink campaign.
The Cartridge People website officially turned 15 years old in 2016.
Our new-look website launched at the end of October 2023. Our new branding was bold, modern and ultimately reflected our mission to take the hassle out of printing.
Our 2024 TV and radio adverts brought our new logo to life with our brilliant Mr. Magenta, Miss Yellow and Ms. Cyan.
