compatible black ink cartridge do not work

I bought compatible black ink cartridge from Cartridge people Code: H93XL Black 17149- hpPrinter compatibility Officejet Pro 6950 6960/6970. When I put in the printer it keeps telling “remove cartridge and put the new cartridge correctly “ Inserted many times but it keeps on telling the same thing”
