The Dell B1160w can be best described as a personal printer and for that reason it would probably be unsuitable for an office space.

The small and light device might not be the best fit for someone with some heavy-duty printing needs but that shouldn’t detract from the positives of this ‘budget printer’. It doesn’t need a USB cable in order to print but instead benefits from built in Wi-Fi allowing users to print from an Android device or anywhere in the home. A potential printer for students with limited deskspace, the B1160 weighs in at 8lbs 13oz and has a height-width-depth ratio of 7-13-8.5 (inches). Dell says the device can print at 20ppm though tests have shown a disparity with this figure.

Despite no duplex printing option, the A4 printer can print documents at a reasonable quality but it should be noted that this is a mono laser printer and so this rules out any colour printing.

What the B1160 tries to do is strike a balance between quality and affordability for the personal home user and the Wi-Fi connectivity options probably just about sees Dell get the balance right. The cheap base price for the model is likely to entice customers in but the build quality is representative of the price.
