Is it true that firmware updates need to be turned off for using compatibles

EpsonXP 2200 Expression Home
- It is requested that the firmware updates are disabled yes, as these can prevent the use of compatibles working. Firmware updates do not alter the workings of the printer, nor do they offer an extra security nor prevent any security issues with your wifi. They are purely put in place to stop the use of third party cartridges. So, yes, we would suggest that you turn them off if you wish to use our own brand cartridges.

- I'm afraid we don't have a lead time on own brand cartridges for the Epson Expression Home XP-2200. Cartridges that are new to the market can take up to 2 years or even longer to either be replicated or sufficient recycling to have been carried out on used cartridges before they become available
