An advanced all-in-one photo printer, the Canon Pixma MP550 is able to print with speed, style and quality whilst incorporating a number of features.

Reducing wastage, the MP550 uses individual ink cartridges with four dye-based inks delivering the type of superior text and image quality you’ll want to keep. Photo prints are detailed whilst displaying smooth colour gradations.

For document printing, this model will give print speeds of 9.2ipm for mono and 6.0ipm for colour. A borderless (10 x 15cm) photo will be delivered in approximately 39 seconds and there is even a Bluetooth printing option.

Operating this all-in-one is a simple process thanks to an intuitive Easy-Scroll Wheel that’ll preview images via a clear 5.0cm colour display. Users will also be able to print from a USB or a memory card.

There is high quality scanning to be enjoyed as a result of the 2400dpi scanner available. Included is an Auto Scan Mode that automatically recognises what’s being scanned and then selects the appropriate settings.

There’s little doubting the stylish build quality that comes with the Canon Pixma MP550 which boasts an intuitive tilting screen that helps usability.

Offering excellent printing whether you’re looking for high quality documents or images, there’s much to admire about a machine that can print, scan and copy.

For added convenience, there’s the opportunity to clip and edit information from various web pages and print out a single document so there’s no need to unnecessarily waste paper. Add to this the printer’s ability to correct a wide range of image faults through its Auto Photo Fix II software and this becomes a more than capable device for the home.

A home office user will not be disappointed with what this machine has to offer though for a small office where a higher frequency of printing is required it may be worth looking for a printer with a paper capacity larger than the 150 sheets offered here.

Another disadvantage the MP550 has for business printing is its lack of a double-sided printing option.
