The issue is that there are several security slot standards:

Standard Kensington Security Slot (K-Slot) – the traditional larger slot.
Kensington Nano Security Slot – much smaller, commonly found on newer ultrabooks and thin laptops.
Kensington Noble/Wedge Slot – a different shape again.

Because Q-Connect does not publish any Nano compatibility and none of the product listings mention Nano, I would assume it is intended for the standard Kensington slot only unless proven otherwise.

If you email us @customerservice@cartridgepeople.com, and tell us the make and exact model of the laptop, we can check which security slot it has and whether this lock will fit. A quick photo of the slot would also work.
