Giving home and business users the A3 printing so often required for posters, the Canon Pixma iX6550 is a compact device with a sleek design.

Available at relatively low price (considering it’s an A3 printer) this machine has paper trays which extend to enlarge the printer’s footprint. There is a minimum amount of space around the printer interface with just two buttons available to users.

This minimalistic approach means that there are no memory card slots available which is a disappointment considering the quality of photo prints.

There are other features missing from the iPX6550. A scanner, copier, double-sided printing option and automatic document feeder are all on the ‘missing list’. Despite not being able to offer those features, this printer does have a number of functions to maximise your photo prints.

An online service called CREATIVE PARK PREMIUM allows you to download photos and illustrations from internationally recognised photographers. Additionally, Easy-PhotoPrint EX can remove the appearance of red eye in photographs.

Even with the lack of scanning and copying functionality, what the iX6550 does do is create high quality photo prints and this can still see it suit the demands of certain home and business users.
