An all-in-one with wireless printing functionality, the Lexmark Interpret S405 is a printer with a sleek design whilst being able to produce quality results.

By using individual ink cartridges, cost savings can be enjoyed as a result of only needing to replace the ink that’s been used. These inks will be able to deliver results when users are looking to print crisp, clear documents or vibrant photo prints.

Those with a home office will appreciate the 100-sheet paper capacity alongside print speeds of 33ppm for draft mono and 30ppm for draft colour. For added convenience, there is also a 35-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF).

The versatility of the S405 is evident not only in its ability to print, copy and scan but also in the range of media types it can support. These include envelopes, photo paper, iron-on transfers plus many more.

For users wanting to print photos in a variety of sizes, this machine can produce a range of borderless photo prints. A PictBridge certified USB port is also supported.

Featuring a 35-sheet Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), the Lexmark Interpret S405 has a larger footprint than its lower priced sibling, the Impact S305.

However, despite measuring 8 x 18.8 x 13.1 inches, the all-in-one weighs just 17.1 lbs, making it manoeuvrable without too much fuss.

The control panel, which can be pulled out at an angle for greater visibility, features the standard shortcut buttons for instant printing, scanning and copying, as well as a small greyscale LCD screen and number pad for faxing.

Another notable edition to the front panel of the machine is a USB port and card slots for memory stick, SD/MMC and xD cards. Users will also be pleased to know that the USB is PictBridge compatible.

The rear-loading 100-sheet tray allows users to keep the printer well stocked, which is useful as the Lexmark is capable of reasonable print speeds.

A 4800 x 2400dpi print resolution and 2400 x 1200dpi optical resolution ensures prints are clean and vibrant. Utilising Lexmark’s new Vizix system, the machines four ink cartridges can be swapped for XL alternatives to significantly enhance value for money.

Both Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity are available on the S405 which will keep many users happy as prints can be carried out on a mobile via the Lexmark app. Printer software is also included in the form of Abbyy Finereader Sprint, Fax Solutions and the useful Lexmark Toolbar.
