When it was first introduced, the HP Photosmart C4280 offered an inexpensive solution for home users who wanted to print their favourite photographs as well as high quality text documents.

The minimalistic design was indicative of the low price many would have paid for a machine that can still print at relatively quick speeds. Whilst the paper capacity hits the 100-sheet standard set for most home printers, there’s no automatic document feeder or auto duplexing feature available.

Important for those who like to get the most from their ink cartridges, the C4280 accepts XL versions so you can essentially get a lot more printing for your money. Being able to use a high capacity cartridge slightly makes up for the fact the printer uses only a black and tri colour cartridge.

Even as a compact model, the LCD screen enhances usability and the quality of prints is consistent with what you’d expect from a machine which is part of the Photosmart range.
