As an all-in-one machine, the Epson Stylus DX8400 has all the necessary features to suit a home user even if this is a bulkier model than other comparable machines.

The control panel offers an easy way to navigate through the printer’s various functions but there still seems a lot going on for a printer described as ‘compact’.

Perhaps the best way to describe the DX8400 is that it is a machine for general use whilst not providing enough features for a busy home office environment and not performing at a level that would see it fit in an office workplace.

Despite the photo printing features, this printer doesn’t quite meet the standards that can be found elsewhere for the amateur photography enthusiast.

Robust and reliable, this machine should satisfy most but is still missing the functions to stand out from the crowd in a congested, general printer market.
