Canon Pixma MP460 Printer Description

Benefitting from a 4.7cm colour LCD screen, the Canon Pixma MP460 makes viewing and printing photos easy.

Thanks to a 4800 x 1200dpi print resolution, photographs will be printed to a lab-quality standard. A 10 x 15cm borderless photo will be produced in around 52 seconds in Standard mode, allowing you to enjoy quality photos at quick speeds.

There is PictBridge support so users can print directly from a digital camera without the need to use a PC.

Users can also select and print images by operating the MP460’s LCD viewer. This adds to the usability of a machine that has easy-to-use software such as Easy-PhotoPrint and Easy-WebPrint.

Crisp and clear scans can be enjoyed as a result of the built-in scanner which has a 1200 x 2400dpi scan resolution. Transferring the image to your PC is quickened due to the USB2.0 high-speed interface.

Canon Pixma MP460 Expert Review

The Canon Pixma MP460 is an all-in-one device aimed at home users looking for a combination of document and photo printing.

Whilst the machine is compact, it’s difficult to call it a stylish model. The button interface looks a little bulky and the slanted styling is a confusing introduction for this device.

As far as performance goes, the MP460 is more than acceptable as a home printer and text documents can be delivered at impressive speeds. Setting up the printer is also a speedy process and navigating through the machine’s features using the LCD display is relatively straightforward.

There are some notable absentees on the MP460’s list of features. Auto duplexing isn’t included and there isn’t the opportunity to print on CDs and DVDs.

A paper capacity of 100 sheets may feel slightly limited when you consider that there’s no double-sided printing available. An automatic document feeder would have also been a welcome addition.
